Frequently Asked Questions
Why are no subtitles found for my YouTube video?
Some YouTube videos do not have subtitles or auto-generated captions enabled. Check if the video has a CC button in the YouTube player. If it does, try again occasionally YouTube's subtitle API is temporarily unavailable.
Why are no stories showing for an Instagram account?
The account may be private, have no active stories, or stories may have expired. Our story viewer only works with public accounts that currently have active stories.
Can I download content from private accounts?
No. GetYTSubtitles can only access content from publicly available accounts and videos. Private accounts, unlisted videos, and age-restricted content are not supported.
The API is returning a 500 error. What should I do?
Verify the URL is correct and the content is publicly accessible. If the error persists, open an issue on GitHub with the URL and error details.
How do I request a new feature?
Open a Feature Request on our GitHub repository. Describe the feature and your use case.
What content can I download?
We support YouTube subtitles and thumbnails, Instagram posts/reels/stories/audio/profile pictures/captions, X posts/videos/profile pictures/captions, and GitHub repository code. More tools are added regularly.
Is it free? Are there usage limits?
Yes, completely free. No daily limits, no premium tiers, no hidden charges. Use the tools as much as you need.
