By using GetYTSubtitles, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. They are written in plain language no unnecessary legal jargon.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using GetYTSubtitles at getytsubtitles.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including visitors, registered users, and API consumers.

2. Description of Service

GetYTSubtitles provides free web-based tools and a REST API for downloading and accessing content from publicly available social media platforms. Our current tools include:

  • YouTube: Subtitle downloader (SRT, VTT, TXT, JSON), thumbnail downloader, channel logo downloader, embed code generator
  • Instagram: Post downloader (photos, videos, carousels), reel downloader (HD video + audio), audio extractor, anonymous story viewer & downloader, profile picture downloader, caption downloader
  • X (Twitter): Post downloader (photos, videos), video downloader (MP4 in multiple qualities), profile picture downloader, caption downloader
  • GitHub: Repository code downloader (ZIP)

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice.

3. User Obligations

By using GetYTSubtitles, you agree to:

  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws
  • Comply with each platform's Terms of Service when downloading content
  • Respect the intellectual property rights of content creators and copyright holders
  • Not use the Service to download content from private, unlisted, or age-restricted accounts/videos
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service infrastructure
  • Not use automated tools to make excessive API requests that degrade service for other users
  • Not use the Service to facilitate copyright infringement or any illegal activity

4. Intellectual Property

The GetYTSubtitles website, codebase, design, and documentation are the intellectual property of GetYTSubtitles and are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

Content downloaded through the Service belongs to the original content creators and copyright holders. GetYTSubtitles does not claim ownership of any content processed through the Service. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any content you download.

The GetYTSubtitles name, logo, and branding may not be used without prior written permission.

5. API Usage

The GetYTSubtitles REST API is provided free of charge for personal and commercial use, subject to the following conditions:

  • Do not make more than 10 requests per second from a single IP address
  • Do not resell or redistribute API access as a standalone service
  • Include attribution to GetYTSubtitles in any public-facing product that uses the API
  • Do not use the API to build a competing content downloader service

We reserve the right to rate-limit, block, or terminate API access for any user who violates these conditions or abuses the Service. See the API documentation for technical details.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

GetYTSubtitles is provided without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times
  • Downloaded content will be accurate, complete, or free of errors
  • The Service will be compatible with all devices, browsers, or operating systems
  • Any defects in the Service will be corrected

Content accuracy depends on the source platform. We have no control over the quality or availability of content hosted on third-party platforms like YouTube, Instagram, or X.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GetYTSubtitles and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data, revenue, or profits
  • Business interruption
  • Any damages resulting from reliance on content downloaded through the Service
  • Any copyright infringement claims arising from your use of downloaded content

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, for a free service, is zero).

8. Copyright and DMCA

GetYTSubtitles respects intellectual property rights. If you believe that content accessible through our Service infringes your copyright, please contact us atlegal@getytsubtitles.com with:

  • A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
  • The specific URL or content at issue
  • Your contact information
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate

Note that GetYTSubtitles does not host content we fetch it in real time from third-party platforms' public APIs. We do not store or cache content after processing.

9. Advertisements and Third-Party Links

The Service may display advertisements served by third parties (such as Google AdSense) and links to external third-party websites or services. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any third-party content, privacy policies, practices, products, or services offered by third-party advertisers. Any interactions or transactions with advertisers found on the Service are solely between you and the advertiser.

10. Privacy

Your use of GetYTSubtitles is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before resorting to formal legal proceedings.
